Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in and assists with the implementation of the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uses the Quality Life Manual for patient identification, placement, and monitoring.
• Notifies other departments of patient changes, e.g., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharges.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications and treatments timely according to facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and implements physician orders, if permitted by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current LVN license in California or a compact license if working in a compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.
• Long-term care experience required.
• Experience with POINT CLICK CARE charting preferred.
