Glen Oaks Hospital, a UHS facility in Greenville, Texas, seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide psychiatric nursing care under RN supervision for adults and seniors within a supportive team.

Hours are 3pm–11pm, five shifts per week with rotating weekends. Requires Texas LVN licensure, CPR, Handle with Care training, and completion of a medication administration exam.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from a Vocational School of Nursing Accredited by the State Board of Nursing.
Experience: 1 year as LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred.
Licensure: Licensed to practice Vocational nursing by State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.
Additional Requirements: Pass medication administration exam; CPR certification and complete Handle with Care (HWC) and Verbal De-escalation prior to unit orientation.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Work as part of a team to support treatment plans for adults and seniors with mental health and addiction issues.

Position Summary:

The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.

Hours: 3pm to 11pm, 5 shifts per week, rotating weekends

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Graduate from a Vocational School of Nursing Accredited by the State Board of Nursing.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year as a /LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred.

Licensure: Licensed to practice Vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Handle with Care (HWC) including restraint and seclusion policies and Verbal De-escalation before on the unit orientation and prior to assisting in restraining procedures.
