Job summary

Golden Merced Care Center in Merced, CA, is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) responsible for providing nursing care and services to residents and performing other duties as assigned. The LVN works collaboratively with other staff and volunteers as appropriate.

The role includes medication administration, nursing services, and training other staff as assigned. PRN position with all shifts available includes day, evening, and night options to support 24/7 resident care.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided to residents.
• Complies with applicable state and federal regulations.
• Works collaboratively with the healthcare team.
• Maintains standards of professional nursing practice.
• Provides backup support to the Director of Nursing when needed.
• Reviews assignments with the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
• Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately to the Director of Nursing and/or Resident Care Manager.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire and life safety, disaster, security, workplace safety, and other emergency situations.
• Notifies the physician, RN, and/or designated agent(s) of changes in resident status as appropriate.
• Receives and executes written and verbal orders from the physician or designated agent as permitted by state regulations.

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM

• Night Shift: 10:00 PM–6:30 AM

Trains other staff as assigned.

• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
