Job summary
La Sierra Care Center in California is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with applicable standards. The LVN will treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect, maintain privacy, and communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff.
Responsibilities include vital signs, wound care, catheter insertions, assisting CNAs, charting, reporting changes, ensuring equipment is operational, and following infection control
Qualifications
- Completion of LVN training from accredited school or college
- Valid LVN license in good standing
- Valid CPR and BLS card
- IV Certification is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care with privacy and confidentiality
- Check vital signs
- Dress wounds
- Insert catheters
- Listen to residents and families
- Address residents' questions/concerns
- Perform accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notes
- Timely reporting of changes in resident condition to the nurse supervisor
- Assist and supervise CNAs
- Ensure equipment is in good operating order
- Monitor residents at risk for falls
- Collect lab samples
- Follow infection control policies
- Report occupational exposures to supervision promptly
- Attend annual facility in-service training programs
- Complete other assignments as directed by management
