Job summary

Mission Pet Health in Nashville seeks an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support emergency services under veterinarian supervision. You will perform triage, stabilization, patient monitoring, and critical care, bringing your full skillset to high-stress situations.

You will educate pet owners, review discharge instructions, and ensure accurate records for handoffs and team communication. A calm, decisive approach and AVMA-accredited program graduate with a current state license

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency setting and communicate with pet owners.

Your Impact as an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary TechnicianNote: The Credentailed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the states' Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Be a Lifeline for Patients in Crisis: You'll be on the front lines, utilizing your full skillset in triage, stabilization, patient monitoring, and critical care under veterinarian supervision.
  • Provide Clarity in Critical Moments: You'll be a vital and calming link for pet owners, clearly explaining treatments, reviewing discharge instructions, and providing reassurance during stressful times.
  • Lead and Elevate Your Team: In a fast-paced setting, you'll guide and support your colleagues, ensuring a smooth workflow and fostering a focused, collaborative atmosphere.
  • Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.
  • One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
