Job summary

Mission Pet Health is seeking an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join Valley View Animal Hospital in Windsor, CO. You will perform triage, monitoring, and critical care under veterinarians, while supporting a fast-paced team in a high-quality care environment.

The role requires AVMA-accredited technician credentials, an active Colorado license, and a calm, decisive approach during emergencies. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a nationwide network.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced emergency/urgent care settings.

Job description

Come join our dynamic team at Valley View Animal Hospital in Windsor, CO! Our team works together to provide accessible and high-quality care to our patients. We are well staffed and always re-evaluating our staffing needs as we continue to grow. We currently have an amazing team of receptionists, RVTs and experienced veterinary assistants to help support our DVMs. A welcoming and positive culture is of utmost importance to our leadership team, and we work hard to maintain work/life balance while still helping as many pets as we can. Valley View Animal Hospital offers comprehensive small animal medical services across a wide schedule, including Urgent Care available Monday through Saturday from noon to 10 PM. We are a well-equipped hospital, with the tools to provide excellent care. We have in-house laboratory machines (CBC, Chemistry, Sedivue, InvueDx, aPTT/PTT), an electrosurgery unit, as well as a well-stocked pharmacy both in clinic and online through VetCove. We have digital radiography and all of our radiographs are sent out for review. We also work with local radiologists for in-clinic diagnostic ultrasounds and have our own ultrasound unit for cystocentesis and FAST scans. Your Impact as an Urgent Care Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Note: The Credentailed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

  • Be a Lifeline for Patients in Crisis: You'll be on the front lines, utilizing your full skillset in triage, stabilization, patient monitoring, and critical care under veterinarian supervision.
  • Provide Clarity in Critical Moments: You'll be a vital and calming link for pet owners, clearly explaining treatments, reviewing discharge instructions, and providing reassurance during stressful times.
  • Lead and Elevate Your Team: In a fast-paced setting, you'll guide and support your colleagues, ensuring a smooth workflow and fostering a focused, collaborative atmosphere.
  • Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication.
What You'll Bring to the Team
  • A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.
  • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.
  • Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.
  • One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
