Ballston Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in anesthesia, dentistry, and clinical care. The role emphasizes surgical support, patient handling, client education, and teamwork in a busy animal hospital.

The ideal candidate holds a state RVT license, can lift patients up to 25 pounds, and performs under OSHA PPE guidelines. The schedule is four 10-hour days with a supportive, client‑focused staff.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Follow OSHA safety procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Strong math for accurate medication dosages.
• Clear communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vitals, and weights; educate clients during exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor intraoperative vitals.
• Collect samples and perform in-house lab testing.
• Take and maintain radiographs with safety procedures.
• Care for and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications and vaccines per veterinary guidance.
• Keep rooms, equipment, and supplies organized and clean.
