Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to provide relief support across our Washington hospitals. You'll gain exposure to a wide range of cases, hospitals, and specialties while enjoying the freedom to choose when and where you work.

This part-time role requires 3–5 shifts per week (8–12 hours each), possible overnight availability, and reliable transportation. Compensation is $38–$41 per hour, with location and credentials carefully considered.

Qualifications

  • LVT-licensed veterinary technician is REQUIRED.
  • Emergency and specialty experience in addition to general practice.
  • Possible overnight availability.
  • Schedule flexibility and reliable transportation.

  • Experience training and mentoring teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and educate clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.

  • Prepare patients for discharge and communicate discharge instructions.
  • Assist in anesthesia and surgical procedures; ensure safety protocols.
  • Use fear-free handling and maintain clean, organized areas.

Qualifications:

Role Responsibilities - department/hospital dependent:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, accurate, and comprehensive medical records including accurate and relevant health history.
  • Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, ensures relevant paperwork is prepared and effectively communicates discharge instructions to pet parents.
  • Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthetic/sedation procedures
  • Use a fear free approach to handling patients in keeping with hospital safety protocols and core values.
  • Understands and completes in-patient and out-patient diagnostic tests and treatments requested by attending clinician.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support fellow team members.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience--$38-41/hr.The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
