Job summary

Small Door, a veterinary care provider in New York, seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. You’ll work in modern facilities, support doctors, and contribute to a Fear Free, AAHA-accredited environment while delivering high-quality care to pets and families.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year GP LVT experience, weekend availability, strong client communication, and comfort with computer tools.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Sat or Sun).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients and recognizing medical emergencies.
• Assessing patients and recording vitals.
• Assisting doctors with diagnostics and procedures.
• Preparing medications and managing samples.
• Supporting radiography and in-house labs.
• Providing compassionate care and maintaining a hospitable environment.

What you’ll do

• Triaging
• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood
• Placing catheters
• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs
• Running in-house labs
• Preparing medications
• Administering medications
• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment

Who you are

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
• Comfortable with computers and online tools
• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs
