Job summary

Small Door is seeking a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) to join our GP clinic team in a fast-paced, pet‑centered practice. You will triage, assess, and assist doctors with diagnostics and treatments, with an emphasis on compassionate care and Fear Free principles.

Weekend availability is required, and you will work in modern facilities with strong doctor:nurse staffing ratios. We offer a competitive salary, a $3,000 sign-on bonus for licensed individuals, comprehensive benefits, and growth

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting.
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients and recognizing emergencies.
• Assessing patients and recording vitals.
• Assist doctors with diagnostics and treatments.
• Administering medications and taking blood.
• Preparing samples and running in-house labs.
• Assisting with radiography and catheter placement.
• Maintaining a hospitable environment and compassionate care.

What you’ll do

• Triaging
• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor
• Basic husbandry and nursing care
• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care
• Taking blood

• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs

• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment

Who you are

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
• Comfortable with computers and online tools
• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs
