Job summary

Southview Animal Hospital & Urgent Care in West St. Paul, MN is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT to join our General Practice team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician who enjoys client and patient relationships and practicing high-quality medicine with a collaborative team. Our hospital offers modern equipment, a wide range of cases including exotic patients, and a focus on continuing education, work-life balance, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required.
  • CVT/LVT/RVT credentialed technicians preferred (exotic animal experience a plus).
  • Strong patient care and technical skills with excellent client service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients throughout their visit.
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories and assist with client communication and education.
  • Perform blood draws, place IV catheters, and collect laboratory samples.
  • Run and interpret in-house laboratory diagnostics.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.

Southview Animal Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT to join our growing General Practice team in West St. Paul, Minnesota.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys building relationships with clients and patients, practicing high-quality medicine, and working as part of a collaborative veterinary team.

What You Will Do
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to veterinary patients throughout their visit
  • Assist veterinarians with physical examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and assist with client communication and education
  • Perform blood draws, place and maintain IV catheters, and collect laboratory samples
  • Run and interpret in-house laboratory diagnostics
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian
  • Monitor patient comfort, health, and recovery throughout treatment
  • Assist with dental procedures and routine preventive care
  • Take and develop diagnostic radiographs
  • Assist with patient restraint and handling using low-stress and Fear Free techniques
  • Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, nutrition, preventive care, and follow-up recommendations
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment area
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians and the veterinary support team
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and their families
What We Are Looking For
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT
  • CVT, LVT, or RVT credentialed veterinary technician
  • Previous veterinary technician experience preferred
  • Strong patient care and technical skills
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced veterinary hospital
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Compassionate approach to patient care
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team
  • Interest in general practice veterinary medicine
  • Exotic animal experience is a plus
Schedule
  • Full time preferred, 30-40hrs/week
  • Daytime and evening shifts
  • Evening availability is a plus and is our primary scheduling need
  • Specific schedule and hours can be discussed during the interview process
  • Pay range: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials
