Job summary

Stone Ridge Veterinary Hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician for a full-time role. You will support veterinarians, assist with surgeries, monitor patients, collect samples, place catheters, and educate clients while maintaining medical records.

The ideal candidate holds state licensure, 1–2 years of clinical experience, and an AVMA-accredited degree is preferred. Excellent teamwork, physical stamina, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician licensure required.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience.
• AVMA-accredited veterinary technology degree preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures.
• Monitor and assess patient status.
• Collect blood and other samples.
• Place catheters.
• Inform clients about Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain health history and information from clients and update medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
