Job summary

Hospital for Veterinary Surgery in New York City is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician with anesthesia expertise to join our surgery-exclusive team. You will induce, monitor, and recover patients, manage anesthetic depth, and support the daily OR flow in a state-of-the-art facility.

We’re seeking a skilled, motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician

Whether your background is in general practice or you’ve already worked in surgery or critical care, this is a unique opportunity to take your skills to the next level in a state-of-the-art hospital designed for learning, teamwork, and excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Induce, maintain, and recover patients under anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures
• Monitor and manage anesthetic depth, ventilators, IV fluids, and critical vitals in real-time
• Maintain anesthesia equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth daily OR flow
• Place and manage IV, arterial, and central lines with precision
• Work closely with our anesthesiologist to develop and execute patient-specific anesthetic protocols
• Contribute to a proactive, communicative OR culture where safety, teamwork, and efficiency go hand-in-hand
• Support surgical prep and patient handoffs to and from the ICU and outpatient teams

What We Require:

• Licensure in New York State required
• 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
• Anesthesia, Critical Care or ICU experience is a plus
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house platform)
• Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
• Highly organized and acute attention to detail
• Openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning

• $35 - $45/hr. Additional incentives available for candidates with a VTS in Anesthesia.
