  • Safely handle and document controlled substances with accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate discharge instructions and education to clients.
  • Train veterinary assistants and volunteers on patient care protocols and best practices.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee pre-, peri-, and post-operative care for high-volume surgical patients

  • Assist veterinarians during surgery and perform technical tasks such as catheter placement and sample analysis
  • Safely handle and document controlled substances with accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate clearly with clients, providing discharge instructions and education
  • Train veterinary assistants and volunteers on patient care protocols and best practices
What You’ll Bring
  • You are a licensed veterinary technician in Washington State with strong clinical skills and a calm, focused approach under pressure. You communicate effectively with both clients and colleagues, and you take pride in delivering high standards of care. You’re detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of making sound decisions in dynamic situations.
  • Active LVT license in good standing (Washington State)
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia, patient monitoring, and animal handling
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and compassionate care
  • Preferred but not required: Spanish language skills and/or prior shelter or clinical experience

Work Environment

Salary range

$26 - $30 per hour
