Garden City Veterinary Care in Mineola, NY is seeking a licensed veterinary technician who is passionate about animal care. You will assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures, safely handle animals, administer medications, and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician with strong surgical and anesthesia monitoring skills.
• Excellent animal handling abilities and knowledge of clinical procedures.

• CVT, RVT, or LVT certification is preferred or licensure-eligibility based on state requirements.
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain and medicate animals; administer vaccines as directed.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• Experience as a licensed veterinary technician.
• Strong surgical and anesthesia monitoring skills.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Compensation

• Pay rate: $30 based on experience
• Sign-on Bonus: eligibility for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 based on surgical and anesthesia background and experience.
