Job summary

St. Georges Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to support surgeries, exams, and client education.

You will work closely with veterinarians and be involved in diagnosis, treatment plans, and patient care to improve outcomes for our patients and their families. The ideal candidate is experienced, confident in rooming patients, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and running tests.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • CVT/RVT/LVT certification preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.

We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to support our goal of creating healthier lives for our patients and their families. At St. Georges Veterinary Hospital, our technicians work closely with our veterinarians and are involved in the diagnosis and treatment plan for our patients. As an experienced veterinary technician, you already know what it takes to be a successful veterinary professional. The ideal candidate will be confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, understands the importance of client education, place IV catheters, draw blood and run bloodwork, and is a positive and supportive team player. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing, and St. Georges Veterinary Hospital encourages its staff to do the same.

Qualifications
  • Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
  • Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Pay Range: up to $27.00 based on experience and licensure status
