Job summary

Garden City Veterinary Care in Mineola, NY, is seeking a licensed veterinary technician who is passionate about pets and capable of assisting veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgeries. You will safely handle animals, administer medications, collect lab samples, and educate clients while maintaining an organized clinic.

Experience with surgical and anesthesia monitoring is essential; CVT/RVT/LVT eligibility or licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician required or eligible for licensure in NY.
• Strong surgical and anesthesia monitoring skills.
• Excellent animal handling and clinical procedure knowledge.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certification as CVT/RVT/LVT preferred or eligible to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
• Schedule requirements Saturday as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a licensed veterinary technician.
• Strong surgical and anesthesia monitoring skills.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Pay rate

$30 based on experience

Sign-on Bonus

eligibility for a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000 based on surgical and anesthesia background and experience.
