Hackettstown Animal Hospital in Hackettstown, NJ is actively seeking a licensed or experienced veterinary technician to join our experienced team.

You will assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries and anesthesia, handle patients, draw blood, collect lab samples, admit and discharge patients, and educate clients. Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong skillset in dental, surgical and anesthesia areas.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.

• CVT/RVT/LVT certification preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Located in the picturesque Musconetcong Valley , Hackettstown combines historic charm with local shopping, scenic surroundings, and a welcoming small-town feel. Hackettstown Animal Hospitalis actively seeking a licensed orexperienced veterinarian technician. The ideal candidate will join our team with confidence and experience in the veterinary field and be optimistic when working with the veterinary, technician and customer service staff. Be comfortable rooming patients, assisting in surgery, surgical recovery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint. Have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, drawing blood and running bloodwork, able to use laboratory equipment, understands the importance of client education, is a positive and supportive team player, and strives to continue to increase their knowledge in the veterinary industry. • Candidate must retain a strong skillset in the dental, surgical and anesthesia areas of the hospital.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures .
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills .
• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required .
