Job summary
Suttons Bay Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited, doctor-led team on a full-time basis in beautiful Northern Michigan. You’ll perform nursing care, monitor anesthesia, assist in surgeries, and participate in diagnostics while delivering exceptional patient care.

- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technician program.
- Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
- Proficiency in nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology and lab procedures.
- One year of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient care and monitoring, including treatments and anesthesia supervision.
- Assist veterinarians with surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
- Educate clients on treatments and care plans.
- Support rapid, accurate charting and record-keeping.

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified candidates

Hospital Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM | Saturday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM

You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians providing a wide variety of services, including:
- Preventive and wellness care
- In-house diagnostics
- Orthopedic surgeries (case dependent)
- Ultrasound
- Laser therapy
- Physical therapy and post-operative recovery planning
- Oncology care supported through virtual oncology consultations
- Competitive compensation: $24–$30/hour

- Utilize Your Full Skillset: You’ll be a vital part of the medical team, providing comprehensive patient care, including administering treatments, monitoring anesthesia, and performing lab work.

- Partner with Clients: You’ll be a key point of contact for pet owners, educating them on treatments, reviewing medical records, and confidently answering their questions.
- Contribute to a Positive Culture: You’ll play an active role in training, providing feedback, and maintaining the high standards of our hospital environment.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A current state veterinary technician license (LVT) in good standing.
- Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
- A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
- One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
