AmeriVet and Elko Veterinary Clinic are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a busy, full-service mixed animal practice in Elko, NV. The role offers full-time or part-time hours, with four 10-hour shifts weekly, and after-hours on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in Nevada or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire.
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting.
• Assist with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners.
• Handle and restrain animals properly.
• Maintain excellent animal healthcare and behavior monitoring.
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgery prep, and post-operative care.
• Perform diagnostic procedures including cytology, radiology, and ultrasounds.
• Support all duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law.

Salary and Schedule

Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage. On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required.

Qualifications

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
