Job summary

Elko Veterinary Clinic in Elko, NV seeks Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join a busy mixed-animal practice. We offer full-time or part-time shifts, ongoing education, and a supportive team environment.

New LVT graduates encouraged to apply. Salary ranges from $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and licensure. Benefits include education allowances, license reimbursement, relocation assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• Licensed LVT in Nevada or eligible to transfer within 3 months.
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• AVMA-accredited veterinary technology degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in hospital or ranch settings with animal handling.
• Perform anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care.
• Assist with dental procedures including scaling and extractions.
• Handle IV catheters, urinary catheters, casts, and bandages.
• Support diagnostics: radiology, ultrasound, cytology setup and interpretation.
• Maintain patient records and effective communication with clients.

Salary and Schedule

Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage. On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required.

Qualifications

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
