Job summary

Elko Veterinary Clinic is seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our busy mixed-animal practice in Elko, NV. New LVT graduates encouraged to apply; full-time or part-time shifts available. Salary ranges from $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on experience and licensure.

Four 10-hour shifts weekly for full-time; weekend coverage and after-hours on-call for some roles. We offer CE allowances, license reimbursement, relocation assistance, referral programs, career development, AmeriVet

Qualifications

• Must be a Nevada-licensed LVT or eligible for license transfer within 3 months.
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
• Care for large and small animals, birds, exotics and owners.
• Animal handling and restraint across species.
• Provide nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting.
• Understand animal behavior and healthcare.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Dental procedures: scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing.
• IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, casts, bandages and splints.
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical care including intubation and perioperative care.
• Laboratory skills including cytology setup and interpretation.
• Diagnostic radiology and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
• All duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowed by law.

Salary and Schedule

Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage. On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required.

Qualifications

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
• And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
