Job summary

Governors Avenue Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinary assistant to join our team. You will obtain client histories, review medical records, and present findings to the Veterinarian. You will assist during visits, dental and surgical procedures, and administer medications as directed.

You will also perform radiology and lab tests, enter data into the computer, and provide supportive care to team members. Occasional Saturdays and a benefits package are included.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate histories from clients about the patient.
• Research the patient’s previous medical history.
• Present findings to the Veterinarian in a clear format.
• Assist during visits, routine procedures, dental, and surgeries.
• Follow Veterinarian instructions.
• Administer medications.
• Perform radiological studies.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Enter data into the computer accurately.
• Provide support for team members.
• Call back clients with lab results and follow up on appointments.

• Researching the previous medical history of the patient
• Presenting the information and findings to the Veterinarian Physician in a clear and understandable format
• Assisting during visits, routine procedures, dental, and surgeries
• Follow Veterinarian Physician instructions
• Administering medications
• Performing radiological studies
• Performing laboratory testing
• Entering accurate data into the computer
• Providing support for the team members
• Calling back clients with lab results, follow up on the appointments, etc.
