Job summary

Hospital for Veterinary Surgery in New York City seeks a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join a state-of-the-art surgical team. You will induce, monitor, and recover patients, manage IV/arterial lines, and support anesthesia protocols in coordination with our anesthesiologist.

Qualifications

• Licensure in New York State required.
• 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
• Anesthesia, Critical Care or ICU experience is a plus.
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house platform).
• Adaptability with a positive attitude toward clients and co-workers.
• Expert time management skills.
• Highly organized with acute attention to detail.
• Openness to feedback, coaching and ongoing learning.

Responsibilities

• Induce, maintain, and recover patients under anesthesia for surgical procedures.
• Monitor anesthetic depth, ventilators, IV fluids, and vital signs in real-time.
• Maintain anesthesia equipment and ensure smooth daily OR flow.
• Place and manage IV, arterial, and central lines with precision.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologist on patient-specific protocols.
• Support a proactive OR culture emphasizing safety, teamwork, and efficiency.
• Assist with surgical prep and handoffs to ICU and outpatient teams.
