Qualifications

• Provide individual, couples and family therapy to clients in outpatient and residential settings.
• Assess mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
• Coordinate treatment with physicians, nurses, and counselors.

Responsibilities

• Provide Individual, couples and family therapy as needed for clients seeking treatment.
• Provide therapy for clients in outpatient program and assist them in dealing with substance abuse, mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.
• Perform comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, domestic violence and medical needs per week.
• Collaborate with counselors, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on social work experience and patient needs.
• Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.
• Provide early interventions and referrals to specialty mental health services, including referral for more intensive psychological or psychiatric support services, if needed.
• Refer patient, client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.
• Learn and lead groups based on NewDay's curriculum and beliefs.
• Assist with process groups and education groups at our Residential facility
• Plan and conduct programs to prevent substance abuse, to combat social problems, or to improve health and counseling services in community.
• Develop or advise on social policy and assist in community development.
• Attend clinical meetings and weekly supervision.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.
