Job summary

NewDay Center in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an experienced mental health professional to assess and treat individuals, families and children with mental, emotional, or substance use disorders. You will provide therapy within outpatient settings, crisis intervention, case management and client advocacy to support recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Individual, couples and family therapy as needed for clients seeking treatment.
  • Provide therapy for clients in NewDay’s outpatient program and assist them in dealing with substance abuse, mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, domestic violence and medical needs per week.
  • Collaborate with counselors, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on social work experience and patient needs.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals.
  • Provide early interventions and referrals to specialty mental health services, including referral for more intensive psychological or psychiatric support services, if needed.
  • Refer patient, client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.
  • Learn and lead groups based on NewDay’s curriculum and beliefs.
  • Assist with process groups and education groups at our Residential facility
  • Plan and conduct programs to prevent substance abuse, to combat social problems, or to improve health and counseling services in community.
  • Develop or advise on social policy and assist in community development.
  • Attend clinical meetings and weekly supervision.Other duties assigned by supervisor

To be the face of NewDay Center to local resources, hospitals, and other sources.
