Job summary

Qualifications

• Active license in AZ or CO in good standing (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, LAC, MFT Associate).
• Trauma-informed, culturally competent, holistic mental health care for diverse populations.
• Experience conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions.
• Strong clinical documentation, caseload management, and ethics adherence.
• Effective communication and collaboration with clients, families, and teams.
• Comfort with EHRs and scheduling, and telehealth as needed.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Licensed Therapist position at Kona Counseling is a full-time, on-site role based in Gilbert, AZ. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing individual, couples, and/or family therapy using evidence-based modalities, completing intake assessments, and developing collaborative treatment plans that reflect holistic and culturally responsive care. The therapist will maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, coordinate care with other providers when appropriate, and participate in case consultation or team meetings. Additional responsibilities may include crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and contribution to wellness-focused programming that supports both clients and the broader community. The role is designed for clinicians who value client-centered practice, professional growth, and a supportive, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Active independent or associate clinical license in Arizona or Colorado (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, LAC, MFT Associate) in good standing.
• Demonstrated ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally competent, and holistic mental health care to diverse populations.
• Experience conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, DBT, EMDR, solution-focused, mindfulness-based approaches).
• Strong skills in maintaining clinical documentation, managing caseloads, and adhering to ethical and legal standards of practice.
• Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for working with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Comfort with using electronic health record systems and basic technology for scheduling, documentation, and telehealth as needed.
• Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience or interest in working with specific populations (e.g., adolescents, adults, couples, BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+ clients, trauma survivors) is highly beneficial.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development, including supervision, training, and continuing education.
• Ability to work on-site in Gilbert, AZ, manage a full-time clinical schedule, and contribute positively to a supportive, wellness-focused practice environment.
