Job summary

Spring Health is seeking an on-site EAP Counselor in Huntsville, AL to provide counseling, management consultations, program promotion, and critical incident response. You will work with HR and leadership, deliver trainings, and promote our benefits ecosystem. Applicants must hold LPC/LCSW/LMFT or Psychologist licensure in AL with 3+ years of independent practice.

FL licensure preferred. Target annual salary ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 with a competitive rewards package including stock

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support to managers, people teams, and members onsite at Huntsville, AL (8a–4p)
• Provide management consultation to leaders to enhance wellbeing and workplace effectiveness
• Conduct assessment to determine Service Agreement and Recovery Plan for referred employees
• Monitor engagement in the Drug Free Workplace referral process
• Deliver critical incident response services
• Conduct trainings and promote Spring Health benefits
• Develop understanding of customer benefit ecosystem and available support programs
• Provide solution-focused counseling and connection to resources
• Complete internal training and attend Clinical Team meetings
• Maintain confidentiality, compliance and ethical standards
• Assess risk and manage crises with in-the-moment support and safety planning
• Identify issues affecting access to care and collaborate with leadership
• Maintain accurate risk-management documentation
• Other duties as needed

The Onsite EAP Counselor role is a unique and exciting opportunity to provide EAP counseling, management consultations, program promotion, critical incident response, and training, etc. to employees as well as case manage mandatory Drug Free Workplace referrals and conduct expatriate readiness interviews. You may also provide consultation to HR, program managers, and supervisors on workplace and organizational issues. This role will report to the Spring Health Clinical Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide on-site support to managers, people teams, and members onsite at the customer location Huntsville, AL; the hours for this role will be 8a-4p local time.
• Provide management consultation to leaders in order to enhance employee wellbeing and workplace effectiveness.
• Conduct assessment to determine Service Agreement and Recovery Plan for referred employees.
• Monitor employees’ engagement in the mandatory Drug Free Workplace referral process.
• Delivery of critical incident response services.
• Conduct trainings and facilitate Spring Health benefit promotion events.
• Develop expert-level understanding of the customer benefit ecosystem and available support programs.
• Provide solution-focused employee mental health counseling, consultation, support, and connection to appropriate resources.
• Complete required internal training and assignments and attend Spring Health Clinical Team meetings.
• Follow Spring Health policies and maintain all confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards.
• Assess for risk and manage member and organizational crises by providing in-the-moment support, triage, safety planning, and follow up.
• Identify and problem-solve issues that create barriers or disruption to care, with support from leadership.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of required information that meets risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Other responsibilities as it applies to the success of this role.

What We Expect From You

• LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist with minimum of 3 years experience (independent licensure required). You have an unrestricted license to practice psychotherapy in the state of AL. An FL licensed, in addition, is highly preferred but not required. All applicants with an AL license must be open to getting FL licensure, as well.
• EAP experience preferred
• SAP qualified preferred
• CEAP certification preferred
• Supervisory experience and/or experience working with management and human resource professionals preferred
• Demonstrated SUD experience preferred
• Experience working with diverse populations (bilingual preferred)
• Knowledge of healthcare settings and community resources
• Tech and computer savvy: comfortable adopting new technologies and platforms and efficient in tech‑related tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You have been trained and have experience in delivering management consultation, management referrals, critical incident response, and EAP presentations
• You have training and experience in evidence-based modalities of care, including short-term, solution-focused therapy
• You are comfortable with providing safety planning and intervention during situations where a client might present with higher risks
• You are committed to high quality documentation of service delivery that is completed in a timely manner
• You like working independently, but would also enjoy having the support of a team and opportunities for connections and collaboration with other providers and our master’s level clinical care navigators

The target salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options, benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
