Job description

Company Description

Timmons Group is currently seeking a Licensed Surveyor to join our Survey Group located in our Charlottesville, VA office. The Licensed Surveyor is responsible for managing assigned projects and client accounts, performing design-related surveying projects using relevant office software, modeling, and CADD technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Project Management
2. Marketing and client development, ensuring technical quality, profitability, scheduling, staff coordination, and client communication
3. Proposal preparation, scope and fee negotiations, billing, client follow-up, and fee collection assistance
4. Maintaining strong client relationships and cross-selling Timmons Group services outside of direct professional expertise
5. Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including mid-sized, small, or larger projects
6. Performing surveys such as ALTA/NSPS Land Title, boundary, route, topographical, construction, control networking, and high-definition surveys
7. Performing calculations and utilizing computers to solve surveying problems
8. Communicating regularly with the Group Leader, clients, staff, and internal teams

Skills/Requirements include but are not limited to:

• Proficiency with Civil 3D, MicroStation, or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with Leica, Trimble, or equivalent survey data reduction software
• Experience creating Machine Control Models
• Experience utilizing GPS/RTK technology
• Preference for experience with Laser Scanning Technology
• Understanding of project accounting, schedule, and budget management for multiple projects
• Experience in client development and supervising technical staff
• Proficiency with technical and office support software
• High energy, creativity, flexibility, and self-motivation
