Job summary

DCC in New Orleans is hiring a Licensed Student Counselor to provide direct counseling, crisis response, and case management for students. The role requires coordinating ADA/504 accommodations and Title IX related services, while maintaining FERPA-compliant records.

The position supports the Advising, Retention & Counseling Center, collaborates with faculty, and may participate in college-wide prevention and intervention initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or related field required.
• Knowledge of FERPA, Title IV regulations, and higher education compliance.
• Experience using Banner or a comparable student information system.
• Experience with case management model.
• Experience with student conduct, financial aid compliance, admissions processing, registrar operations, fraud review, internal investigations, or institutional compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct counseling services and case management to assist students with personal, academic, career, and crisis issues.
• Conduct crisis counseling and triage assessments; respond to college-critical incidents.
• Maintain confidential student records per FERPA and institutional standards.
• Collaborate with faculty to support students facing academic or personal challenges.
• Provide ADA/504 accommodations and Title IX related services.
• Provide online counseling via email, phone, and other methods.
