Job summary

Arrow Center for Education in Belcamp, MD is hiring a Teacher to implement educational programs per IEPs/PEPs for assigned students. You will supervise small groups, instruct in core subjects and electives, and design unit plans tailored to each student’s learning style and progress.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment, timely documentation of progress, and collaboration with the Treatment Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a valid State Department of Education Teaching Certificate in the area required by the specific assignment.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within the Arrow Center for Education policies.
• Provide direct group and individual instruction in English/language arts, math, science, social studies and electives.
• Prepare unit plans for groups of ~9 students using assessments and student info to tailor instruction.
• Create a stimulating learning environment for students who struggle to adjust to school.
• Complete attendance, grades, and behavioral logs to record student progress.
• Prepare evaluations through IEP/PEP for assigned students and recommend plan changes.
• Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team, communicating information in writing and orally.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and environment.
• Maintain emergency lesson plans for unforeseen absences and attend required trainings.

Education
