Job summary

Lane Education Service District is seeking a Special Education Consultant to support students with low-incidence and social-emotional disabilities at LESD District Office. The role focuses on behavioral and instructional support aligned with IEPs and curricular guidelines.

The position is 1.0 FTE, exempt, with a regular/probationary contract and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and PERS. Oregon licensure in Special Education is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state special education requirements.
• At least 3 years successful experience in a similar special education environment serving students with cognitive impairments and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Consult with ESD and local district staff.
• Assist in implementing IEPs.
• Participate in IEP meetings to determine eligibility and develop appropriate IEPs.
• Provide behavioral supports that help prevent or minimize behavioral problems.
• Assist in developing and monitoring educational programs across common curriculums, including functional academics, social skills, and behavior management.
• Conduct classroom observations and coach instructional staff.
