Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Licensed Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Base wage range is $34-$38 per hour.

The role includes installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, with emphasis on safety and code compliance. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience, and a state electrical license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• State License required.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred.
• Apprentice aptitude test required.
• Union-specific training preferred.
• Project-specific Mortenson training encouraged.
• Current driver''s license required.
• Ability to read plans and understand English; able to operate power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers and transformers.
• Test systems and circuits for safety and compatibility.
• Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, and lighting.
• Study plans and work orders to determine requirements and sequence.
• Repair high voltage systems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Read prints, layout work, and install new service.
• Maintain safe work environment and comply with codes.
