Job summary

Harmon Hospital is seeking a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) to join our team in Las Vegas. This full-time, day-shift position focuses on planning, developing, and directing the Social Services Department in compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Social Work license, in good standing with the state where required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work strongly preferred.
• Must have at least 3+ years of experience in a long term care facility.
• Must be able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively.
• Ideal candidate must be a skilled communicator, director and motivator.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing of the Social Services Department within the facility in accordance with current existing Federal, State and local standards.
• Develop and manage the initial contact with the discharge planner, family or responsible party to initiate tour of facility and follow up procedures.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for identifying the medically-related social and emotional needs of the patient/resident.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with intra-department personnel and other departments to ensure social service programs meet patient needs.
• Keep abreast of current federal and state regulations as well as professional standards.
