Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a professionally licensed law enforcement officer to protect our premises, assets, staff and members. You will maintain a high-visibility presence and enforce policies.

Responsibilities include patrolling, reporting irregularities, assisting in emergencies and ensuring safety while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires Texas Peace Officer licensing and active full-time status.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Texas Peace Officer in good standing.
• Minimum three years' experience as a full-time police officer.
• Authorized to engage in outside employment while armed and in uniform.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Jurisdiction within the city of Houston; Texas license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Secure premises, staff and members by patrolling property and inspecting access points.
• Prevent losses by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy, and restraining trespassers.
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators.
• Patrol building and perimeter; ensure safety and well-being of all.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Report suspicious behavior and policy violations; comply with abuse/incident reporting.
• Meet timelines related to timekeeping and employee compliance (e.g., Kronos).
