Qualifications

• NYS Security License required.
• Active police officer certification; active officers must obtain NYS Security Guard license within 90 days of hire.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.
• Basic computer skills; good oral, interpersonal and written communications to document investigations.
• One year minimum security or law enforcement experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs security and safety rounds as assigned.
• Insures that offices and suites are secured.
• Responds to calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Reports all suspicious activity to the Lead Security Officer or designee.
• Identifies hazards and threats; initiates corrective measures or notifies supervisor.
• Completes written incident reports as assigned.
• Prepares property reports for patient valuables and secures them in the department safe.
• Uses department camera to photograph areas where incidents occurred.
• Pick-up hours as needed at acute care facilities outside primary location.
• Visitor management and other duties as assigned.
• Answers resident calls, fire alarms, and minor maintenance issues campus-wide.
• Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

What you will do

Under immediate and direct supervision of the Lead Security Officer.

• - performs all security and safety rounds as assigned.
• - Insures that offices and suites are secured.
• - Responds to calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
• - Reports all suspicious activity to the Lead Security Officer or the designee on duty.
• - Identifies hazards and threats to the safety and security of the campus and its occupants and then initiates the appropriate corrective measures or immediately alerts his supervisor regarding the deficiency.
• - Completes written reports of all reported incidents as assigned.
• - Prepares property reports for patient valuables and secures said valuables in the department safe.
• - Uses the departments digital camera to photograph areas where security incidents have been reported.

Investigations/Property:

• - Pick up hours as the need arises, at our Acute care facilities, other than primary work location.
• -Visitor management and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Job duties to include but not limited to answering resident calls, fire alarms, and minor maintenance issues throughout the campus. Completing daily round and being able to push or pull 50 lbs along with standing for long periods of time are minimum requirements.

What you will need

• NYS Security License

Pay Range: $20.20 - $28.00

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
