Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Per Diem Licensed Security Officer for Samaritan Hospital to manage visitor access and support campus safety during the Day shift. Under supervision of the Lead Security Officer, you will conduct rounds, secure offices, and respond quickly to incidents.

Required credentials include NYS Security License and High School Diploma/GED; police certification and training certificates are valued.

Qualifications

• NYS Security License required.
• Active police officer certification preferred or required to obtain NYS Security Guard license within 90 days of hire.
• Current Training Certificate must be valid.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform security and safety rounds as assigned.
• Ensure offices and suites are secured.
• Respond to calls for service promptly.
• Report suspicious activity to Lead Security Officer.
• Identify hazards and take corrective action or alert supervisor.

What you will do:

Under immediate and direct supervision of the Lead Security Officer.

• performs all security and safety rounds as assigned.
• Insures that offices and suites are secured.
• Responds to calls for service in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Reports all suspicious activity to the Lead Security Officer or the designee on duty.
• Identifies hazards and threats to the safety and security of the campus and its occupants and then initiates the appropriate corrective measures or immediately alerts his supervisor regarding the deficiency.

Investigations/Property:

• Completes written reports of all reported incidents as assigned.
• Prepares property reports for patient valuables and secures said valuables in the department safe.
• Uses the departments digital camera to photograph areas where security incidents have been reported.
• Pick up hours as the need arises, at our Acute care facilities, other than primary work location.

-Security Officer position is primarily for visitor management and other duties as required.

What you will need:

• NYS Security License
• Active police officer certification; active police officers required to obtain NYS Security Guard license within 90 days of hire.
• Current Training Certificate.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic computer skills, good oral, interpersonal skills and written communications which will allow you to document investigative activities.
• minimum one year security or law enforcement experience

Pay Range: $20.20 - $28.00

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
