What You'll Do
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients based on their individual needs and established plans of care.
  • Supervise, support, and provide clinical guidance to licensed nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and other clinical team members.
  • Direct and oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
  • Serve as House Supervisor in the absence of the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or RN Supervisor.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and a positive working environment.
Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize changes in condition compared to established baselines.
  • Communicate significant changes in patient condition to appropriate team members, physicians, physician extenders, patients, and legal representatives.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician or physician-extender orders and established standards of nursing practice.
  • Provide and oversee wound care and ensure treatments are accurately documented.
  • Participate in the development and ongoing review of individualized patient care plans.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Ensure patient rooms are prepared and ready to safely receive new admissions.
  • Participate in clinical rounds with physicians and other healthcare providers and follow through on new orders and recommendations.
  • Review physician orders, diagnostic results, laboratory reports and pharmacy communications and take appropriate follow-up action.
Quality, Documentation & Compliance
  • Monitor nursing documentation to ensure it is accurate, concise, complete, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Keep nursing leadership informed of patient care concerns, clinical trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete incident and accident reports and ensure appropriate follow-up is conducted.
  • Address patient, family, and visitor concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support and participate in the center's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and committees as assigned.

Qualified candidates should have:
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and support licensed and non-licensed clinical staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with physicians, pharmacy partners, laboratory providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications
  • Current RN license in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
  • Two years of medical-surgical experience as a RN, preferred.

  • Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, working and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending
