Job summary

Deep Fission, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Reactor Operator to enter the Initial Operator Training pipeline, earn licensure, and stand watch with final authority on shift. Licensure follows a two-phase sequence: DOE order 426.2 then NRC licensing.

Once qualified, you will perform direct control room functions and carry supervisory responsibilities as an RO/SRO. This is a design/pre-licensing phase role where you help write procedures, shape the plant, and build the training program for future

Qualifications

• Must hold or have held NRC Reactor Operator license with at least 1 year of licensed experience.
• Military reactor operator experience with similar duties and responsibilities.
• SRO instructor certification preferred or equivalent teaching experience.
• Experience supervising reactor operations or achieving criticality in plant or simulator.

Responsibilities

• Complete all phases of the Deep Fission Initial Operator Training program, including classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job supervised watch standing.
• Pass the Deep Fission written examination at a minimum score of 80 percent, and pass the Qualification Board.
• Obtain initial DOE qualification to operate the Deep Fission reactor, then progress to NRC operator licensing.
• Serve as the on-shift lead with final authority on all reactor operations decisions.
• Perform direct control room operator functions, including reactor startups, power changes, and shutdowns, as the licensed operator on shift.
• Participate in emergency drills, and carry emergency response organization responsibilities.
• Develop and review operating procedures, emergency operating procedures, and training materials.
