Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Orlando, FL is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care.

This full-time role includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus, weekend rotation, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include following state laws, assisting with therapy, coordinating with the care team, and educating patients and families to improve well-being.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance or access to dependable vehicle/public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and adhere to the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and coordinates care with the health care team.
• Educates patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in therapy within the PTA scope.
