The PTA performs duties which include assisting the physical therapist in implementing treatment programs according to the plan of care, training patients in exercises and activities of daily living, conducting treatments, using special equipment, administering modalities and other treatment procedures, reporting patient response, and completing documentation. The PTA works under the supervision of a physical therapist. The PTA is clinically responsible for students, aides and volunteers working under their direction. The PTA will be assigned to work certain weekends and holidays in accordance with department policy.
Education Required: Associates Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an APTA-accredited educational program.
Experience Preferred: none required. Preference may be given to individuals with advanced clinical experience or expertise.
Day Shift. 40 hours per week, could be 5 8-hour days or 4 10-hour days, and would have a required holiday per year on the IP side. Could help cover IP/ARU therapy during times of low census on the OP side.
