Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Center for Healthy Eating and Activity Research (CHEAR) in La Jolla seeks a licensed psychologist to lead behavioral-therapy studies for overweight and obese individuals, including those who binge eat. The role includes overseeing interventions, guiding staff, and ensuring fidelity across trials.

The incumbent conducts individual and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults, develops treatment plans, and collaborates with the treatment team to advance research

Qualifications

• PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology and one year of post‑doctoral experience.
• Licensed as a Psychologist by the State of California.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical work with children, adolescents and/or adults.

Responsibilities

• Oversee behavioral-therapy trials for overweight/obese individuals and those who binge eat.
• Formulate treatment plans and conduct group and individual therapy sessions.
• Train and supervise predoctoral and postdoctoral students and staff at CHEAR.
• Prepare clinical reports and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
