THE POSITION
Are you ready to lead with purpose as a Licensed Psychologist Director with the Department of Human Services? This role allows you to guide psychological services that support patient care at Clarks Summit State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on directing psychological services, coordinating clinical initiatives, and supporting high-quality care throughout the hospital. As a Licensed Psychologist Director, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Leadership: Plan departmental goals, review performance, and organize staff assignments
- Service Coordination: Align psychological services with other disciplines and integrate new policies
- Clinical Oversight: Evaluate diagnostic, treatment, and therapeutic programs with professional staff
- Staff Supervision: Assess competencies, review performance, and guide professional development
- Direct Care: Provide patient assessment, testing, counseling, and behavior plan support when needed
- Policy Development: Create and apply procedures that uphold quality standards across the department

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Licensed Psychologist Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years as a Licensed Psychologist, MH or a Psychologist one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual disability, one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a current license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of psychology or possession of a current license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. [Pennsylvania licensure must be obtained within one year of employment]
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
