What You’ll Do

The Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) is responsible for assisting with the coordination of the home to meet residents' health and safety needs. The Lead assists in maintaining compliance under the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 17 and Title 22, as well as the Lanterman Act (Welfare and Institutions Code). The LPT is expected to help residents maximize independence.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer medications to individuals, following the five rights for verification.
• Attend residents’ doctor appointments and address concerns and changes with the attending physician.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living such as bathing, cleaning, preparing meals, grooming, and cooking.
• Assess residents’ wounds, assist with dressing changes and breathing treatments as needed.
• Audit all medications during a new medication cycle and verify the five rights.
• Perform G-tube insertions for feeding.
• Perform colostomy care.
• Administer intramuscular injections.
• Administer diabetes insulin injections.
• Evaluate residents’ level of consciousness, neurological status, and responsiveness after seizures or traumatic episodes.
• Redirect during behavioral episodes and support individual needs.
• Complete and update client notes daily, observe and report unusual behaviors or injuries.
• Identify signs and symptoms of infections.
• Perform basic physical assessments such as vital signs and head-to-toe evaluations.
• Participate in community outings with individuals.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• 1 year experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
• Licensed Psychiatric Technician certification.
• Direct Support Professional 1 & 2 certification.
• First Aid / CPR and CPI certification.
• At least 21 years old.
• California Driver’s License.
• Successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including background check.
