HAN Staff is seeking a Licensed Psychiatric Technician in Calipatria, CA to join a correctional healthcare team. The role focuses on delivering basic nursing care, monitoring patient status, and supporting daily living activities in a secure facility.

The position requires an active CA license and at least one year of experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, with some weekend shifts and varied 8- or 12-hour schedules.

Qualifications

• Current, valid CA license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions.
• Monitor patient behavior, mood, and vital signs.
• Assist with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility).
• Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice.
• Support patients during therapy and treatment activities.
• Report changes in patient condition to nurses or physicians.
• Maintain patient safety and prevent self-harm or injury.
• Document patient care and observations.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Follow treatment plans and facility protocols.

Shift Details

• Full Time Schedules
• Some weekends may be required
• 8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility
• Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)
• Sat-Sun 1:30pm-10pm

Licensed Psychiatric Technician Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide basic nursing care to patients with mental health conditions

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
