Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based 1:1 placement in Fredericksburg, VA for the 26/27 school year. This full-time private duty role supports a local K-12 district with nursing services.

You will provide continuous observation, medication administration, and care plan implementation under RN supervision, with clinical backing from experienced nurses.

Qualifications

• Virginia LPN license in good standing.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with pediatric patients and school-based nursing preferred.
• Ability to implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the student during the school day.
• Support chronic condition management and assist with medical procedures per care plans.
• Provide first aid and medication administration.
• Document care and communicate with school teams.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Report significant status changes to supervising RN and family.

Job description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Fredericksburg, VA for the 26/27 school year! This is a full-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Active LPN License in Virginia
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:
  • Pediatric skillset
  • Seizure management - competent with seizure action plans and rescue medications
  • Tube feedings
  • Pediatric diabetic care
  • Oxygen and airway management
  • Medication administration
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently
• Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice
• School-based experience highly preferred

WHAT YOU'LL DO
