This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is located at the Lincoln Community Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) in Lincoln, NE. The LPN works under the supervision of an RN as part of a Primary Care team, providing basic and specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients with diverse physical, mental, behavioral, or psychological needs.

Duties

The position involves working directly with veterans in face-to-face, video, or telephone settings. Responsibilities include:

1. Serving as an LPN on a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) in Primary Care.
2. Assisting with intake of Veterans and maintaining clinic flow.
3. Completing clinical reminders and health screenings.
4. Documenting all data and nursing care in the electronic medical record.
5. Prioritizing and managing time effectively.
6. Communicating tactfully and courteously with patients and staff.
7. Assisting providers with exams and procedures.
8. Performing treatments such as EKGs, vital signs, blood glucose readings, etc.
9. Administering immunizations and medications per policy.
10. Participating in patient care management and follow-up.
11. Initiating procedures and managing complications.
12. Responding to emergencies, including CPR.
13. Performing venipuncture and specimen collection.
14. Using VA computer systems efficiently and safely.
15. Participating in team meetings and maintaining professional relationships.
