We are currently seeking an experienced:

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Part Time, Evenings

Job Description:

1. Assist in directing nursing services for the unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
2. Delegate duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel and monitor work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
3. Observe patients for symptoms and reactions, including physical and mental conditions, indicating adverse changes.
4. Assist with notifying attending physicians of emergencies and patient deaths in the unit. Implement changes in orders as instructed or ordered by physicians.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a valid Licensed Practical Nurse license.
3. Current, valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing; proof of license renewal required every other year.
4. Willing to serve as charge nurse and work during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
5. Ability to provide quality nursing care, follow doctors’ orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
6. CPR certification renewed yearly.
7. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
