Responsibilities

The Patient Registration Assistant:

  • Greets and welcomes patients, visitors, and guests to the center.
  • Assists patients through the registration process.
  • Prepares patient charts and other communications.
  • Provides updates to patient families as needed.
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for the position.
  • Maintains and evaluates their own job-specific expertise, demonstrating the importance of continuing education for professional growth.
  • Performs administrative duties as assigned.
  • Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments to cover patient needs.
  • Fosters a positive and professional environment by interacting courteously and participating as a team member. Must have an engaging personality and a commitment to clinical excellence and outcomes.
  • Participates in committees, work groups, and meetings as necessary.
  • Successfully completes required competencies of the position.
Qualifications

Education – Required:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

Skills – Required:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish speaking ability is a plus.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including:
  • Sending and receiving emails
  • Accessing patient charts electronically
  • Creating complex Word and Spreadsheet documents
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to listen, comprehend, and follow instructions

Experience:

  • Previous work in an ambulatory surgical or hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience with registration, admissions, or healthcare scheduling is helpful.
  • One year of Medical Receptionist experience is preferred.
  • Post-high school administrative training is a plus.

Compensation: USD $16.00/Hr. to USD $17.00/Hr.
