Job summary

Summit Health in New Rochelle, NY is seeking an LPN to join our patient‑centered care team. You will assist during office visits, prepare patients for exams, administer medications, and support physicians under supervision.

Requirements include an LPN diploma, CT licensure, BLS on hire, and IV/phlebotomy skills; completion of a competency checklist is expected within 3 months. Pay ranges from $33.99 to $42.50 per hour.

• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Introduces self to patient while escorting patient into the exam room.
• Prepares the patient for exams and procedures.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians’ instructions to patients.
• Administers medications including injections and IV therapy as needed and within licensure.
• Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, catheterizations or applying compresses.
• Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
• Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits.
• Assembles and uses equipment appropriate to medical practice.
• Schedules follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
• Communicates delays effectively when necessary.
• Enters patient information into the computer accurately and on time.
• Manages the physician’s desktop accurately and efficiently.
• Provides clerical support to patients (appointments, pre-authorizations, answering calls).
• Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.
• Must work under supervision of the physician or RN.

MISCELLANEOUS:

• Provides clerical support to patients such as but not limited to making appointments, booking procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations and answering telephones.

• Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels.

• Must work under the supervision of the physician or Registered Nurse.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of LPN school program

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors including but not limited to years of experience and location of position.
